News Letter 5846-013
14th day of the 3rd month 5846 years after creation
The 3rd Month in of the first year of the third Sabbatical Year
The Third Sabbatical Year of the 119th Jubilee Cycle

May 22, 2010

Shabbat Shalom Family,
I have just come back from the Land of Israel on Monday. A number of you kept Passover one month later than most because someone told you about the tekufah or equinox and without researching it you fell for the lie. Tekufah in scriptures is to equinox like Iron chariots in 1& 2 Kings is to automobiles. Don’t get misled.

You will also be keeping Shavuot one month later too, again because you have fallen for the lie.

Well I was there for Passover and the Barley was already starting to reseed itself the day before Passover when Nehemiah and I checked it. It would have been all gone by the time you kept Passover if you waited one month. Because you believed a lie, you would have had no barley for the wave offering because you waited one more month to keep Passover.

This past weekend May 23, 2010 the Wheat was already being harvested in the Land of Israel. So now our Father has shown you twice; Once with the Barley being Aviv and reseeding itself just the day before Passover at the end of March, and now with the wheat being ready for harvest and indeed is being harvested at Shavuot May 23.

Those of you who continue to hold to the position for Shavuot next month are being shown again that you are wrong by our Father in Heaven by the physical crops on the ground in Israel. Repent now while you can. We are to wave the First Fruits of the Barley and the first fruits of the wheat. First Fruits, means the first of the harvested grains, not the last fruits or the fruits that we stored away. It is high Time to wake up people and to stop following every new teaching that comes along without proving it.

If I have not answered your email in recent weeks please forgive me. I have been overwhelmed with personal issues and literally hundreds of emails since I got back. To show just how distracted my head is, when I booked my trip to Israel I booked it for the weekend of May 27 to 31 instead of May 21to May 24.

When I went to check in, the Stewardess at the counter politely told me I could not get on because I was booked for the following weekend. I then asked if I could switch as I had obviously made a huge mistake. She told me the flights were all full. I was about to give up when she said she would give it one more check. She found a flight and I would be arriving just one hour later. So I took it.

Just as I was about to board, I realized I did not know what my return times were. When I checked I was told I had to come back on the May 31 flight. All the flights for May 24 were full. Again I was about to give up and go home when she said she would check one more time. She found a flight but it would be one hour later. I took it.

Then as I boarded the plane at 7:30 PM Eastern I realized my room in Jerusalem was also booked for next weekend. It was impossible to contact them at this hour or from the plane.

When I arrived I came on faith. The place was full and I had no room and Shabbat was about to begin. Then a sister called and she was at another hotel; she checked and they had one single room. I took it and all was perfect for the entire weekend.
Our plane had a medical emergency on the way home when a woman had a heart attack in front of me. There were 4 doctors on board and they saved her life not to mention the plane full of people praying to YHVH. We diverted into Rome with a plane full of Jews and this lady was taken to the hospital. The Plane had to jettison much of its fuel in order to land; a very expensive diversion. Then upon arriving in Newark my connection flight was four hours delayed. We got home at 2 AM the next morning and I had to go to work for 4 AM.

But I was still on the high from the weekend in Jerusalem. I was able to once again mikvah in the Gihon on Shavuot. I then came up to the Jewish quarter to run right into Michael Rood, who agreed to meet me later on that day. Then with another group I met Avi ben Mordechai and we had a great heart to heart. After meeting many of my old friends and some new ones I returned to have a talk with Michael.

We both apologized for the things that were said in the past and I felt great just for this. We talked for a long time. I then asked him if he would come and speak at Sukkot with us in the Petra. He had heard of us in the Petra last year and laughed. But he would not commit as Michael believes in a different chronology than I do. So he said that if we are all still here after Yom Teruah, then he would think about it. I told him I looked forward to talking to him at Sukkot.

I had also talked to Avi about speaking with our group at Sukkot. We may even do something or a joint tour on certain days with him. We will have to work out the details, but it does sound interesting.

So yes Brethren start to plan you Sukkot trip now to join us in Jerusalem this year and be a part of L’Chaim Ephraim

Last week I warned you again about the false teaching of the seventy week prophecy of Daniels Timeline.

One Messianic leader even went so far to say that the war would start on or about Shavuot. I was there and nothing happened. Another said the covenant of the anti messiah would take place at this time. Again I was there and nothing happened.

Stop listening to these teachers who are not keeping the Holy Days or the Sabbaths or the Sabbatical years; Stop playing religion and going to some church for an hour to have your ears tickled. Why do you continue to listen to them? If you do not keep these Sabbaths which come from the 4th commandment, if you do not understand the significance of these set apart times you cannot understand prophecy.

If you keep just the Sabbath as the Seventh Day Adventist do you cannot understand prophecy. If you keep the Holy days as well as the Sabbaths you again are not able to understand Prophecy and like so many others you continue to guess.

It is only when you are keeping the Sabbatical years and understand the Jubilee cycles and how it works in conjunction with the Holy Days and the Sabbaths, then and only then can you understand prophecy. Brethren I am not bragging about myself, but all of those who have read the book the Prophecies of Abraham well attest to this fact. Once you understand the Sabbatical and Jubilee cycles which you can watch at http://www.sightedmoon.com/?page_id=251 for free and if you have not yet read the Prophecies of Abraham then please go to http://www.sightedmoonnl.com/?page_id=601 and order it after Shabbat. You do need to have this information and it will explain prophecy as you have never heard it before.

It is this information that many of your teachers will not share with you. They are in fact blocking it at every turn. So go past your leadership and order the book and read it. What is about to happen is part of Satan’s great deception to deceive if possible the very elect. Read the book to see just how this deception is taking place right now. And you may even be a part of it.

One brother has read it and sent the following report;
Thank you for writing such an intense message dear brother. I’m sorry it took me so much time to get back to you concerning this. I had to put it down at one point because my head was swimming and I think blood was about to shoot from my eyes. I read it very carefully and prayerfully. I will write a more in depth response marking where I have some differences with your research. Overall I believe YHWH has blessed you with a message that cannot be overlooked or ignored.

I’m still a bit overwhelmed with all the material and I thank you for bringing such an immensely important subject to light.

Toda Raba Achi,

And another brother wrote this;
Joseph,

I trust you have returned from Israel.

I am nearly finished with my first reading of your book. I do have several issues. But, I hold that your direction of study is too important to be overly critical. To my knowledge, no one else has ever looked into the cycles of opportunities of observance and cycles of judgment of Sabbatical and Jubilee cycles as you are attempting to do.

Chicago

I would also like to thank each and every one of you who have contributed to the donations we were going to make at Shavuot. Don could not make it from Holland at this time and this gift will be given at a later date this summer. Again I want to thank you all very much. I will report more when Don has all the details finalized.

I will soon be announcing an investment plan for working in Israel. Please keep this in your prayers as I work on it this summer. If you have farm land in Israel and would like to work with us please contact me and let’s see what we can do together.

But in order to work in the Land of Israel you will need to speak the language. There is a great opportunity and you can learn more about it at http://www.sightedmoonnl.com/?page_id=617 If this is of interest then let them know ASAP so we can advise the school how many are coming. We now have one full class, and we may be able to put another one together if the interest is there. Go to the URL above and make contact through the links provided.

Just checked the Drought map which you can do at http://www.drought.unl.edu/dm/monitor.html
Here in Ontario we are already sweltering and some places already have water restrictions. This is the land of lakes and it is only the first of June.

I also heard the following report from CNN. Listen to them talk, they know things are not normal now. They know something is happening. Will somebody tell them to read the Prophecies of Abraham so they can understand why? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xDiKIWoEe-I

Also it has been reported that Greece has had a plaque of frogs. What does this mean? Not sure but you may want to watch the following report. http://fromtheold.com/news/major-earthquake-hit-greece-if-you-can-believe-frogs-2010052818264.html

This weekend we have our regular Triennial Torah reading which can be found at

So let us begin our study with our reading for Shabbat

We are in the first year of this third Sabbatical cycle which began at Aviv and we are currently on week # 11 29/05/2010

Gen 11
When I read this chapter the very first thing I come to see is that the children of Noah traveled from the East. Having been to Noah’s Ark it is rather easy to figure out how they came to the plain of Shinar.

From News Letter http://www.sightedmoon.com/?page_id=165
When I was in Turkey, we went to see the Anchor stones in Kazan. Nearby was a spring that busted out of the ground and flowed down the Aras valley past where the Ark of Noah was. This river is the Aras-Gihon which is one of the four rivers that went around the Garden of Eden.

I tasted the water, and it was very bitter. Gilgamesh said that he had to cross the land of bitter lakes to find Noah.
While I was thinking of how the people dispersed from the Ark I realized that the bible says in Genesis 11: 1 Now the whole earth had one language and one speech. 2 And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar, and they dwelt there.

I know from reading that these people followed the river in order to water their herds. Along the road we took to get to Noah’s Ark and the same one we took to leave is the Murat River which was just North West of the spring I mentioned above, near the anchor stones. This spring is the one that feeds the Aras River which flowed to the east. This Powerful Murat River is a tributary of the mighty Euphrates River, and it flowed to the west. It is this river that the children of Noah followed to the Euphrates.

When you follow the Euphrates, as it flows west through Turkey, it takes a turn southward. It is at this point if you look on a map that you can see a number of interesting towns just before the river crosses the border and goes into Syria.

Where the Euphrates flows towards the east in Syria, there is a tributary that flows from the north. It is called Balikh. At the northern tip of the Balikh River is a town called Urfa today in Turkey. It used to be known as Ur of the Chaldeans. How do we know this is Ur of the Chaldeans and not the Ur down near the Persian Gulf where most commentators say it is? When we read the rest of Genesis 11 we get to see Abrams Ancestry and they all had towns around this area.

Genisis 11:10 This is the genealogy of Shem: Shem was one hundred years old, and begot Arphaxad two years after the flood. 11 After he begot Arphaxad, Shem lived five hundred years, and begot sons and daughters. 12 Arphaxad lived thirty-five years, and begot Salah. 13 After he begot Salah, Arphaxad lived four hundred and three years, and begot sons and daughters. 14 Salah lived thirty years, and begot Eber. 15 After he begot Eber, Salah lived four hundred and three years, and begot sons and daughters. 16 Eber lived thirty-four years, and begot Peleg. 17 After he begot Peleg, Eber lived four hundred and thirty years, and begot sons and daughters. 18 Peleg lived thirty years, and begot Reu. 19 After he begot Reu, Peleg lived two hundred and nine years, and begot sons and daughters. 20 Reu lived thirty-two years, and begot Serug. 21 After he begot Serug, Reu lived two hundred and seven years, and begot sons and daughters. 22 Serug lived thirty years, and begot Nahor. 23 After he begot Nahor, Serug lived two hundred years, and begot sons and daughters. 24 Nahor lived twenty-nine years, and begot Terah. 25 After he begot Terah, Nahor lived one hundred and nineteen years, and begot sons and daughters. 26 Now Terah lived seventy years, and begot Abram, Nahor, and Haran.

27 This is the genealogy of Terah: Terah begot Abram, Nahor, and Haran. Haran begot Lot. 28 And Haran died before his father Terah in his native land, in Ur of the Chaldeans. 29 Then Abram and Nahor took wives: the name of Abram’s wife was Sarai, and the name of Nahor’s wife, Milcah, the daughter of Haran the father of Milcah and the father of Iscah.

Arphaxad as we have read in other News Letters was the father of the Chaldeans as Josephus has said. In the area of Ur are other villages or ruins that were called Serug after Abrahams Great Grandfather, and Nahor after Abrahams Grandfather, Terah after Abrahams Father, Today known as Til-Turahi, and Harran after Abrahams Brother.

More recently, the view of Michaelis, anticipated by Josephus (”Ant.” i. 6, § 4), that Arpakshad contains the name of the Kasdim or Chaldeans, has become predominant. The explanations of Gesenius, etc., “boundary [”Arp”] of Chaldea” (Keshad); of Cheyne, “Arpakh” and “keshad,” written together by mistake (”Expositor,” 1897, p. 145), etc., are now superseded by the observation of Hommel (”Ancient Hebrew Traditions,” 294) that Arpakshad is the same as “Ur of the Chaldeans” (Ur-kasdim). Both names agree in the consonants except one, and also in meaning, as Arpakshad is the father of Shelah, grandfather of Eber and ancestor of Terah, Nahor, and Abraham, who came from Ur (Gen. xi. 12).

North of these villages is also Nemrud dagh or Mount Nimrod. West of these villages is another town called Cinar. Which is a derivative of Shinar. There is also a river called Sinjar.

Genesis 12:4 So Abram departed as the Lord had spoken to him, and Lot went with him. And Abram was seventy-five years old when he departed from Haran. 5 Then Abram took Sarai his wife and Lot his brother’s son, and all their possessions that they had gathered, and the people whom they had acquired in Haran, and they departed to go to the land of Canaan.

While I am here at this moment let me show you a prophesy. In Zechariah 5 we read of the Woman in an ephod. The word woman and the word fire in Hebrew is differentiated by a dot in the Masoritic text. The Object that Zechariah is describing as a flying scroll is none other than today’s modern missiles. The evil woman inside is a nuclear device or evil fire, not an evil woman. The two women pushing it through the air are two fire propelled rockets.

Once you see all this then know that the place where they build a house for these scrolls is in Shinar, here in Southern Turkey and Northern Syria. You can read more on this subject at http://www.sightedmoon.com/?page_id=82

Strange how the bible tells us exactly where they will build houses to house the missiles in. That is in Shinar. Syria. It was in this area that Israel attacked and destroyed a convoy of nuclear equipment.

Near to the place where the Anchor Stones were found is where the river Gihon gushes out of the ground. It was this river that Cush traveled down going towards the east and establishing the mountains of Cush in what is now northern Iran. This mountain range and where Cush went is explained in http://www.sightedmoon.com/?page_id=26

The next thing I learned about this first half of this chapter is when the languages were confused. In Seder Olam by Rabbi Yose, he states that all scripture is there to reveal truths to us and not to hide.

Rabbi Yose shows that the confusion of the languages took place 14 years before the kings of the north came and marched upon the cities of Sodom and the plains of Shiddim. This is shown to us in Chapter 14. This would make this year of the languages 2013 after the creation of Adam or 1824 BC. This is not during the life of Peleg as we have explained in a previous News letter. Some commentators teach that the languages were confused during Pelegs life time. I showed you by chronology that this was not possible.

For all of you chronologist verse 10 is important because it says that Shem was 100 when Arphaxad was born and Arphaxad was born two years after the flood. The Flood took place 1656 years after the creation of Adam which is 2181 BC.

But back in Genesis 5:32 we are told that Noah was 500 when Shem Ham and Japheth were born. You must now add the information given in Chapter 11 to this to come to the right chronology.

There is a great deal in interesting information near the end of chapter 11.

We are told of Haran’s death at the hands of Nimrod in the book of Jasher but there is much information that you should also know about from this time so I include it here. Note I am quoting from another source and the chronological years do not match up with my chronology. I am changing his dates in the following quote. From http://www.hope-of-israel.org/bkjasher.htm

Nimrod and the Birth of Abram
Now let’s pick up the story of Nimrod, the world’s first tyrant, after the Flood. The book of Jasher gives us a very interesting insight into Nimrod’s kingdom and personality. The story begins with his father Cush. We read:
“And Cush, the son of Ham, the son of Noah, took a wife in those days, in his old age, and she bare a son, and they called his name Nimrod, saying, At that time the sons of men began to rebel and transgress against God, and the child grew up, and his father loved him exceedingly, for he was the son of his old age.

“And the garments of skin, which God made for Adam and his wife, when they went out of the garden, were given to Cush. For after the death of Adam and his wife, the garments were given to Enoch, the son of Jared, and when Enoch was taken up to God, he gave them to Methuselah, his son. And at the death of Methuselah, Noah took them and brought them to the ark, and they were with him until he went out of the ark. And in their going out, Ham stole those garments from Noah his father, and he took them and hid them from his brothers. And when Ham begat his firstborn Cush, he gave him the garments in secret, and they were with Cush many days. And Cush also concealed them from his sons and brothers, and when Cush had begotten Nimrod, he gave him those garments through his love for him, and Nimrod grew up, and when he was twenty years old he put on those garments.

(These garments are of a spotted fawn. To this very day in Africa the Kings wear the skins of a leopard as symbolic of this very same garment given to Nimrod by Cush, and Ham.)

“And Nimrod became strong when he put on the garments, and God gave him might and strength, and he was a mighty hunter in the earth….And when Nimrod was forty years old, at that time there was war between his brethren and the children of Japheth, so that they were in the power of his enemies….And when Nimrod had joyfully returned from battle, after having conquered his enemies, all his brethren…assembled to make him king over them, and they placed the regal crown upon his head.

“And he placed TERAH THE SON OF NAHOR the prince of his host, and he dignified him and elevated him above all his princes” (Jasher 7:23-41).

Notice! Although the Bible does not mention these fine details in the Scriptural narrative, nevertheless, Terah, Abram’s father, was the commander-in-chief of Nimrod’s army! He was a very important man in the post-Flood world, and in the government of Nimrod. This occurred when Nimrod was about forty years of age. The account goes on:
“….And Nimrod dwelt in Shinar…and his kingdom became very great…and Nimrod reigned in the earth over all the sons of Noah, and they were all under his power and counsel [he was the first World Ruler]. And all the earth was of one tongue and words of union, but Nimrod did not go in the ways of the Lord….And Terah, the son of Nahor, prince of Nimrod’s host, was in those days very great in the sight of the king and his subjects, and the king and princes loved him, and they elevated him very high.

“And Terah took a wife and her name was Ambhelo the daughter of Cornebo; and the wife of Terah conceived and bare him a son in those days. Terah was SEVENTY YEARS OLD when he begat him, and Terah called the name of his son ABRAM, because the king had raised him in those days, and dignified him above all his princes” (Jasher 7:44-51).

The book of Jasher therefore plainly tells us Abram was born to Terah when he was 70 years old — not 135, as Archbishop Ussher thought. The story continues that at the birth of Abram, the astrologers and wise men of Nimrod’s kingdom saw a horrifying sign in the heavens, which they understood to mean that the child born to Terah that night would grow up and possess the earth, and would kill all the kings of the earth, posing a great threat to Nimrod himself. A plot was hatched to kill the child. Terah managed to save Abram by substituting the child of one of his servants instead, and then hid Abram, his mother and nurse, in a cave for ten years (Jasher 8:33-36). GO to this URL to see where this cave is in Ur. http://www.turkishclass.com/picture_1564

The account goes on to tell us that Haran, Abram’s oldest brother, took a wife when he was 39 years of age, and when he was 42, she bare to him Sarai, in the tenth year of Abram’s life (Jasher 9:1-4). Thus Sarai was ten years younger than Abram, whom she would later marry. She was born in 1879 B.C. This means that Haran was born 42 years earlier, in 1921 B.C., and was 32 years older than Abram. This is also corroborated in Jasher 12:16, where we read, “and Haran was in those days that Abram was born thirty and two years old.” He was born when Terah his father was 38.

When Abram was ten years old, he came out of the cave. The king Nimrod and all his soothsayers thought he was long dead by this time. However, taking no chances, we read that:
“And when Abram came out from the cave, he went to Noah and his son Shem, and he remained with them to learn the instruction of the Lord and his ways, and no man knew where Abram was, and Abram served Noah and his son Shem for a long time.

“And Abram was in Noah’s house thirty nine years, and Abram knew the Lord from three days old, and he went in the ways of the Lord until the day of his death, as Noah and his son Shem had taught him; and all the sons of the earth in those days greatly transgressed against the Lord, and they rebelled against him, and they served other gods, and they forgot the Lord who had created them in the earth….And Terah had twelve gods of large size, made of wood and stone, after the twelve months of the year…” (Jasher 5-8).

Thus Abram, from age 10 to 49, was in the house of Noah, learning the truth of YEHOVAH God! This would have been from the year 1879 BC (the year Sarai was born) until the year 1840 B.C. During this time, “king Nimrod reigned securely, and all the earth was under his control, and all the earth was of one tongue and words of union” (Jasher 9:20).

At this time Nimrod and his great men took counsel to build a “strong tower, and its top reaching heaven: (verse 21). While they built it, they “imagined in their hearts to war against him and to ascend into heaven” (v.25). As the Scriptures tell us, and the book of Jasher confirms, the gigantic tower was destroyed in a mighty paroxysm. Says the book of Jasher, “And as to the tower which the sons of men built, the earth opened its mouth and swallowed up one third part thereof, and a fire also descended from heaven and burned another third, and a third part is left to this day, and it is of that part which was aloft, and its circumference is three days’ walk” (v. 38).

This tremendous event would have occurred just before Abram left the house of Noah in the year 1840 B.C. The tower of Babel catastrophe, therefore, would d have occurred somewhere around the year 1841 B.C. It was shortly after this awesome lesson from the heavens, that Abram comes forth from hiding and exile, and returns to the house of his father Terah.

Abram Confronts Nimrod
When Abram was 50 years old, he left Noah’s house and returned to his father’s house. Terah was still steeped in idolatry, and still captain of the host of Nimrod (Jasher 11:13-15). Abram remonstrated with his father about his strange gods (verses 26-50). Incensed, Terah reported this incident to Nimrod, who sent soldiers to seize Abram. Nimrod, all his princes, and Terah were present, when Abram witnessed before them, urging the king to repent of his follies and wickedness, his idolatries, and to serve the “God of the whole universe, who created thee, and in whose power it is to kill and keep alive” (Jasher 11:54-55). He ended his testimony, saying, “O foolish, simple, and ignorant king, woe unto thee forever” (v. 56).

Nimrod was so indignant and full of wrath, that he ordered Abram put into prison, and then asked his counsellors what ought to be done with him. They counselled that Abram should be thrown alive into a flaming furnace and be burned to death (Jasher 12:6). For three days and nights a mighty fire was prepared in the king’s furnace, and all the inhabitants of the land stood to see Abram being brought out to be burned. Jasher estimates the crowd at about 900,000 (Jasher 12:7-8).

What happened? Jasher relates:
“And the Lord loved Abram and he had compassion over him, and the Lord came down and delivered Abram from the fire and he was not burned. But all the cords with which they bound him were burned, while Abram remained and walked about in the fire…. Haran too was cast into the fire and he died.

“And Abram walked in the midst of the fire three days and three nights, and all the servants of the king saw him walking in the fire, and they came and told the king….And when the king heard their words his heart fainted and he would not believe them…and the king rose to go and see it, and he saw Abram walking to and fro in the midst of the fire…” (Jasher 12:24-28).
At this time Abram was 50 years old. Nimrod was the son of Cush, the son of Ham. Ham begat Cush probably 2179 B.C., two years this side of the Flood. If Cush were 251 years of age, when he begat Nimrod, then Nimrod would have been born in 1929 B.C. Remember, he was expressly born in Cush’s old age, “the son of his old age” (Jasher 7:23). Thus he would have been about 30 years younger than Terah, the chief over his host. He would have been approximately 40 years older than Abram.

Keep this date in mind, for later we will see how well it correlates with another date signpost we will discover in the book of Jasher! There are many “date links” given in the book of Jasher which are unavailable anywhere else.

Abram’s Place of Safety
After this, king Nimrod had a disturbing dream, which his counsellors interpreted to mean that “the day will come when Abram and his seed and the children of his household will war with my king, and they will smite all the king’s horses and all his troops…this means nothing else but the seed of Abram which will slay the king in latter days” (Jasher 12:53-55). Abram got secret word of this and the conspiracy to have him killed, and “Abram hastened and ran for safety to the house of Noah and his son Shem, and he concealed himself there and found a place of safety” (v. 61).

Terah came to visit his son, after he had been with Noah for a month, at which time Abram encouraged his father to come with him to Canaan, so that they would both be delivered from the hand of Nimrod (v. 65). Terah hearkened to his son’s wisdom, and they came as far as the land of Haran, and remained there (Jasher 13:1). “And Abram remained in the land of Haran three years, and at the expiration of three years the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, I am the Lord who brought thee forth from Ur Casdim, and delivered thee from the hands of all thine enemies. And now therefore if thou wilt hearken to my voice and keep my commandments, my statutes and my laws, then will I cause thy enemies to fall before thee, and I will multiply thy seed like the stars of heaven…” (Jasher 13:3-4). At this time YEHOVAH God told Abram, “Arise now, take thy wife and all belonging to thee and go to the land of Canaan and remain there…” (v. 5).

Judges 1-2

Having now read in Joshua where Israel totally defeated the Canaanites we are now reading where they were not able to totally put them out and then they resorted to forcing them to pay tribute.

Remember we said before that Joshua was an Idealistic reading while Judges is more reality.

I was going to comment on how Israel put the Canaanites under tribute, but as I we read in Chapter 2 Yahovah does His own commentary.

1 And the Messenger of יהוה came up from Gilgal to Boḵim, and said, “I led you up from Mitsrayim and brought you to the land of which I swore to your fathers, and I said, ‘I do not break My covenant with you, 2 and as for you, do not make a covenant with the inhabitants of this land – break down their altars.’ But you have not obeyed My voice. What is this you have done? 3 “Therefore I also said, ‘I am not driving them out before you, and they shall be adversaries to you, and their mighty ones shall be a snare to you.’ ” 4 And it came to be, when the Messenger of יהוה spoke these words to all the children of Yisra’ĕl, that the people lifted up their voice and wept.

Then once Joshua died and the elders of Israel died who had seen all that Yahovah had done then Israel resorted to serving the false gods. Have you ever asked yourself why they do this?

In our report above I point out how some people this year had resorted to keeping the Passover one month later. They are also going to keep Shavuot one month later. But in both cases the Barley for Passover and the wheat for Shavuot will already be reseeded or harvested long before these people can keep the feasts.

In both cases and in fact in all cases I can think of, people go a whoring after other gods because they are not grounded in the Torah. They may read it but they do not study it. They do not pray to Yahovah to learn more about it. Many people are too busy with life to study the word and search and question and look for the answers. Then when a new ideology comes along with a sharp sounding teacher they fall for it.

It is not that Israel or you wake up one day and say we are going to go and worship Buddha today. It is a gradual lack of interest followed by more and more interest in another, until the other becomes your new lover.

11 Then the children of Yisra’ĕl did evil in the eyes of יהוה, and served the Ba‛als, 12 and forsook יהוה Elohim of their fathers, who had brought them out of the land of Mitsrayim, and went after other mighty ones, of the mighty ones of the people who were all around them, and they bowed down to them, and provoked יהוה. 13 So they forsook יהוה and served Ba‛al and the Ashtoreths. 14 And the displeasure of יהוה burned against Yisra’ĕl. Therefore He gave them into the hands of plunderers who despoiled them. And He sold them into the hands of their enemies all around, and they were unable to stand before their enemies any longer. 15 Wherever they went out, the hand of יהוה was against them for evil, as יהוה had spoken, and as יהוה had sworn to them. And they were distressed – greatly.

All the troubles that the USA and England and Australia are having over the past few years, do you think anyone would consider that it was because they had moved away from Yahovah. Does it not seem that Yahovah’s hand is moving against these countries by all the calamities that we read about in the nightly news? Why is this?

Ps 23-25
The answer to that last question can be found in this weeks Psalms.
Psalm 24: 6 This is the generation of those who seek Him; Ya‛aqoḇ, who seek Your face.
Psalm 25: 4 Show me Your ways, O יהוה; Teach me Your paths. 5 Lead me in Your truth and teach me, For You are the Elohim of my deliverance; On You I wait all the day.

We are to seek Him and His ways and to earnestly look for them to learn about Him.

14 The secret of יהוה is with those who fear Him, And He makes His covenant known to them. 15 My eyes are ever toward יהוה, For He brings my feet out of the net. 16 Turn Your face to me, and show me favour, For I am lonely and afflicted. 17 The distresses of my heart have enlarged; Oh, bring me out of my distresses! 18 Look on my affliction and my toil, And forgive all my sins. 19 See how many my enemies have become; And they hate me with a violent hatred.

Once again David is speaking of how lonely this way of life can be when all others are against us for keeping Yahovah’s will and obeying the Torah.

Mat 14:22 - 15:39

Mathew 15:7 “Hypocrites! Yeshayahu rightly prophesied about you, saying, 8 ‘This people draw near to Me with their mouth, and respect Me with their lips, but their heart is far from Me. 9 ‘But in vain do they worship Me, teaching as teachings the commands of men.’

Isaiah 29:13 And יהוה says, “Because this people has drawn near with its mouth, and with its lips they have esteemed Me, and it has kept its heart far from Me, and their fear of Me has become a command of men that is taught

2 Kings 17:19 Yehuḏah, also, did not guard the commands of יהוה their Elohim, but walked in the laws1 of Yisra’ĕl which they made. Footnote: 1Man-made laws.

I want to address this one topic here now. I understand that many on this News Letter still go to church on Sunday. They still keep Christmas, and Easter or many other holidays. But none of these can be found in the Torah. They are instituted by the church organization that you belong to and cannot be found in your bibles unless you do some very fancy changing of what the Bible actually says.

You call yourselves Christians and believe you are saved. You draw near to the Messiah with your songs and words, but in fact your hearts show you do not believe in Him because you will not obey Him. You will not keep the Seventh Day Sabbath, or the Annual Holy Days as found in Leviticus 23. I do not care what group you associate with, whether Jewish or Christian or Muslim or Eastern religions; if it ain’t in Leviticus 23 then you are not to be keeping it, period. The Only Holy days we are to keep are Passover and the Days of Unleavened Bread for 7 days. Shavuot or Pentecost, The Feast of Trumpets or Yom Teruah, the Day of Atonement, the Feast of Tabernacles or Sukkot and the Eight Day feast.

If you are keeping any other days as holy then you are sinning and your heart is not obedient to Yahovah. It is that simple. This fourth commandment also includes the keeping of the Sabbatical and Jubilee years which most of you do not keep.

By holding fast to your religious traditions and ignoring what Yahovah told us to keep, and what Yahshua Himself kept, you prove to this very day that in vain do you worship Him, teaching as teachings the commands of men. Stop doing this immediately and repent and begin to obey Yahovah and keep what He said to keep. Do not add to it nor take away from it.

Deuteronomy 12: 32 “All the words I am commanding you, guard to do it – do not add to it nor take away from it

We are also going to continue to study the 613 laws of Torah which we can read at http://www.jewfaq.org/613.htm
We are doing 7 laws each week and this week we shall study laws 72-78. We also have commentary from http://theownersmanual.net/The_Owners_Manual_02_The_Law_of_Love.Torah

72 That a bridegroom shall be exempt for a whole year from taking part in any public labor, such as military service, guarding the wall and similar duties (Deut. 24:5) (negative).

5 “When a man has taken a new wife, let him not go out into the army nor let any matter be imposed upon him. He shall be exempt one year for the sake of his home, to rejoice with his wife whom he has taken.

A bridegroom shall be exempt for a whole year from taking part in any public labor, such as military service, guarding the wall and similar duties. “When a man has taken a new wife, he shall not go out to war or be charged with any business; he shall be free at home one year, and bring happiness to his wife whom he has taken.” (Deuteronomy 24:5) This, of course, is simply the converse of Mitzvah #71. (The rabbis felt compelled to come up with a certain number of positive and negative rules, which explains why the list seems so contrived in places.) Consider this: if marriage is a picture of Yahweh’s relationship with His people, then there ought to be a spiritual counterpart to this honeymoon period—and there is. Yahshua the Messiah is prophesied to reign on earth as King of Kings for a thousand years—a period of time generally referred to as the Millennium, actually the seventh of seven millennia Yahweh has ordained as mortal man’s time upon the earth. Following the “marriage supper of the Lamb,” spoken of in Revelation 19, God’s thousand-year-long honeymoon with the redeemed of the earth will usher in the wedded bliss of eternity with Him. As a confirmed “old married person,” that sounds pretty good to me.

73 Not to withhold food, clothing or conjugal rights from a wife (Ex. 21:10) (CCN42). See The Marital Relationship.

10 “If he takes another wife, her food, her covering, and her marriage rights are not to be diminished.

Do not withhold food, clothing or conjugal rights from your wife. “If he takes another wife, he shall not diminish her food, her clothing, and her marriage rights. And if he does not do these three for her, then she shall go out free, without paying money.” (Exodus 21:10-11) What the rabbis said to do here was such a no-brainer, God never even mentioned it. What He did say was intended to protect subsequent wives from abuse. It is abundantly clear that Yahweh’s intended pattern for marriage was two people, a man and a woman, joined as one for a lifetime. However, strange as we may find it, He never overtly prohibited polygamy—although He made sure that every time we see it in practice in the scriptures, there’s trouble attached. Caveat emptor.

74 That the woman suspected of adultery shall be dealt with as prescribed in the Torah (Num. 5:30) (affirmative).
30 or when a spirit of jealousy comes upon a man, and he becomes jealous of his wife. Then he shall make the woman stand before יהוה, and the priest shall do to her all this Torah.

The woman suspected of adultery shall be dealt with as prescribed in the Torah. “This is the law of jealousy, when a wife, while under her husband’s authority, goes astray and defiles herself, or when the spirit of jealousy comes upon a man, and he becomes jealous of his wife; then he shall stand the woman before Yahweh, and the priest shall execute all this law upon her. Then the man shall be free from iniquity, but that woman shall bear her guilt.” (Numbers 5:29-31) The “this” at the beginning of the quoted scripture refers to a lengthy passage that immediately precedes it (Numbers 5:11-28) in which if a husband suspects his wife of cheating on him but has no proof, he is to bring her before the priest, who turns the whole thing over to Yahweh. If she denies wrongdoing, a complicated ritual is performed which is the rough equivalent of saying, “Cross my heart and hope to die,” only for real, because Yahweh’s doing the judging. As a practical matter, this convoluted procedure protects both the husband and the wife from injustice: if the wife is innocent, she can’t be condemned on the suspicions of a jealous and paranoid husband. But if she is guilty, her own words condemn her before God, leaving the husband “free from iniquity.”

This “Law of Jealousy” demonstrated the spiritual adultery of Israel. Yahweh describes himself as a “jealous God.” He refuses to share our affections with other “gods,” whether serious idols or frivolous pursuits. If we are guilty of unfaithfulness toward Him, it will do us no good to deny it, swearing our innocence on the proverbial “stack of Bibles,” for He knows the truth even before we do. The only thing we can do is to fall on His mercy, repent, and beg His forgiveness. Unfaithful Israel has not done this—yet. But they will, and a remnant of them will be restored to a place of honour.

75 That one who defames his wife’s honor (by falsely accusing her of unchastity before marriage) must live with her all his lifetime (Deut. 22:19) (affirmative).

19 and fine him one hundred pieces of silver and give them to the father of the young woman, because he has brought an evil name on a maiden of Yisra’ĕl. And she is to be his wife, he is not allowed to put her away all his days.

One who defames his wife’s honor by falsely accusing her of unchastity before marriage must live with her all his lifetime. “If any man takes a wife, and goes in to her, and detests her, and charges her with shameful conduct, and brings a bad name on her, and says, ‘I took this woman, and when I came to her I found she was not a virgin,’ then the father and mother of the young woman shall take and bring out the evidence of the young woman’s virginity to the elders of the city at the gate. And the young woman’s father shall say to the elders, ‘I gave my daughter to this man as wife, and he detests her. Now he has charged her with shameful conduct, saying, “I found your daughter was not a virgin,” and yet these are the evidences of my daughter’s virginity.’ And they shall spread the cloth before the elders of the city. Then the elders of that city shall take that man and punish him; and they shall fine him one hundred shekels of silver and give them to the father of the young woman, because he has brought a bad name on a virgin of Israel. And she shall be his wife; he cannot divorce her all his days. (Deuteronomy 22:13-19) The actual passage is pretty self-explanatory. In our decadent culture, of course, the first hurdle we have to get over is the idea of pre-marital sexual abstinence. It’s not quaint and outmoded; rather, it’s God’s plan for our lives. Why? Because (as I’ve said before) the marriage of a man and a woman is a metaphor for Yahweh’s relationship with His people. He won’t share our affections with false gods—He wants His bride pure and spotless, undefiled by compromise with the world.

That leaves us in a bit of a pickle, doesn’t it? All of us have sinned and therefore fall short of the glory of God. None of us are “spotless bride” material. It requires a miracle of love, redemption, and sacrifice, but if we’ll let Him, He will restore our purity and take us as His bride.

76 That a man may not divorce his wife concerning whom he has published an evil report (about her unchastity before marriage) (Deut. 22:19) (negative).

19 and fine him one hundred pieces of silver and give them to the father of the young woman, because he has brought an evil name on a maiden of Yisra’ĕl. And she is to be his wife, he is not allowed to put her away all his days.

A man may not divorce his wife concerning whom he has published an evil report about her unchastity before marriage. “…He cannot divorce her all his days.” (Deuteronomy 22:19) This is one more contrived rabbinical restatement designed to let them arrive at the requisite number of affirmative and negative mitzvot. They missed (okay, they purposely ignored) a golden opportunity here, however. The Deuteronomy passage quoted in #75 goes on to state the consequences if the bride is guilty: “But if the thing is true, and evidences of virginity are not found for the young woman, then they shall bring out the young woman to the door of her father’s house, and the men of her city shall stone her to death with stones, because she has done a disgraceful thing in Israel, to play the harlot in her father’s house. So you shall put away the evil from among you.” (Deuteronomy 22:20-21) A man who accused his bride of unchastity in Israel, in other words, had to be prepared to either live with her all his life or see her stoned to death. In other words, one did not make such accusations lightly. A truly loving husband, it seems to me, would rather cover his bride’s failings, forgiving her of her past sins, than see her stoned to death. In fact, this compassionate attitude is exactly how Yahweh treats us if we ask Him for mercy. If we do not, however, we must face judgment.

This spiritual application rings true for Israel, unfortunately. She was unchaste. She did—and continues to—follow false gods. And the “men of her city” (i.e., the world) have in obedience to the Law been stoning her for thousands of years. If only Israel had understood what Yahweh was teaching them in His Torah.

77 To divorce by a formal written document (Deut. 24:1) (affirmative). See The Process of Obtaining a Divorce.

1 “When a man takes a wife and shall marry her, then it shall be, if she finds no favour in his eyes because he has found a matter of uncoveredness in her, and he shall write her a certificate of divorce, and put it in her hand, and send her out of his house,

Obtain a divorce by a formal written document. “When a man takes a wife and marries her, and it happens that she finds no favor in his eyes because he has found some uncleanness in her, and he writes her a certificate of divorce, puts it in her hand, and sends her out of his house, when she has departed from his house, and goes and becomes another man’s wife, if the latter husband detests her and writes her a certificate of divorce, puts it in her hand, and sends her out of his house, or if the latter husband dies who took her as his wife, then her former husband who divorced her must not take her back to be his wife after she has been defiled; for that is an abomination before Yahweh, and you shall not bring sin on the land which Yahweh your God is giving you as an inheritance.” (Deuteronomy 24:1-4) The rabbis are homing in here on the mechanism for divorce. It should be reiterated right up front that although Yahweh allows it, He hates divorce, permitting it only because of the hardness of Israel’s heart (Matthew 19:8). Judaism 101 explains the Certificate of Divorce: “The document in question is referred to in the Talmud as a sefer k’ritut (scroll of cutting off), but it is more commonly known today as a ‘get.’ The get is not phrased in negative terms. The traditional text does not emphasize the breakdown of the relationship, nor does it specify the reason for the divorce; rather, it states that the woman is now free to marry another man.” Sad, isn’t it? The relationship—the thing symbolized by marriage—is arguably the only thing Yahweh cares about. And yet we often throw it away without a second thought.

Yahshua put the issue into perspective for us. “Some Pharisees came and tried to trap him with this question: ‘Should a man be allowed to divorce his wife for any reason?’ ‘Haven’t you read the Scriptures?’ Jesus replied. ‘They record that from the beginning “God made them male and female.” And He said, “This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.” Since they are no longer two but one, let no one separate them, for God has joined them together.’ ‘Then why did Moses say a man could merely write an official letter of divorce and send her away?’ they asked. Jesus replied, “Moses permitted divorce as a concession to your hard-hearted wickedness, but it was not what God had originally intended. And I tell you this, a man who divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery—unless his wife has been unfaithful.” (Matthew 19:3-8 NLT; cf. Mark 10:2-12) We mess up God’s metaphors all too often through sheer thick-headedness. But to my mind its worse to do it through stubborn, willful disobedience of His instructions. He didn’t tell us these things for His health; He told us for our health.

In identifying the only legitimate cause for divorce, Yahshua pinpointed the very thing that caused Yahweh to separate Himself from Israel: unfaithfulness. “You have heard that the law of Moses says, ‘A man can divorce his wife by merely giving her a letter of divorce.’ But I say that a man who divorces his wife, unless she has been unfaithful, causes her to commit adultery. And anyone who marries a divorced woman commits adultery.” (Matthew 5:31-32 NLT)

78 That one who divorced his wife shall not remarry her, if after the divorce she had been married to another man (Deut. 24:4) (CCN134). See Divorce.

4 then her former husband who sent her away is not allowed to take her back to be his wife after she has been defiled, for that would be an abomination before יהוה. And do not bring sin on the land which יהוה your Elohim is giving you as an inheritance.

One who divorced his wife shall not remarry her if after the divorce she had been married to another man. “…Then her former husband who divorced her must not take her back to be his wife after she has been defiled.” (Deuteronomy 24:4) From the same passage as #77 above, we see a restriction placed on the husband of the broken marriage: he is not to remarry the wife he previously divorced if she had been married to someone else in the meantime. This is where it gets a little confusing. The book of Hosea, especially the second chapter, seems at first to imply that Yahweh has different standards for Himself. In verse 2 He says, “She [Israel] is not my wife, nor am I her husband.” Israel, after unsuccessfully seeking other “lovers,” says in verse 7, “I will go and return to my first husband.” But then down in verse 16, we read, “It shall be in that day, says Yahweh, that you will call me ‘my Husband.’” And in verse 19, “I will betroth you to Me forever.” What gives? Is Yahweh breaking His own rules? He would be, except for one stunning detail: “From now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know Him thus no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.” (II Corinthians 5:16-19) The Israel to whom Yahweh will betroth Himself in the Last Days is not His old unfaithful wife, for she is prohibited by law from re-marrying her old Husband. Rather, she is now a new creation that, has been made pure and undefiled by the blood of the Lamb of God. But until she is transformed in Spirit by receiving Yahshua, her renewed relationship with God is legally impossible.
